Gas prices are too high

Gas prices are a hot topic when they’re on the rise. With the cost of living expenses rising alongside fuel prices, most of us are looking for ways to save. Here is a list of 8 preventative measures you can take to help save money at the pump regardless of gas prices.

8 ways to save money on gas

Keep tire pressure at the recommended PSI found in your owner’s manual. Read our post about tire pressure to find out how important proper tire pressure is.
Use cruise control when possible on highways. Maintaining constant speed improves gas mileage.
Reduce drag by removing excess weight. Fuel efficiency decreases 1 to 2 percent for every ten pounds.
Keep your tires properly aligned.
Change a dirty air filter, especially on cars more than ten years old.
Combine several short trips into one longer one as engines are more efficient when they are warmed up.
The more aggressively you drive, the more gas you use. Go easy on the brake and accelerator.
Improve your MPG up to two percent by using the grade of oil recommended in your owner’s manual.
